Privacy Policy
The short version. Ante has no sign-up, no email, and no password. Camera frames are analysed on your device and are never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere — and neither is anything derived from them. We do no advertising and no cross-app tracking. We do record how the app is used, against an anonymous identifier that is not tied to your name, your email, or your Apple ID, so that we can see which parts of Ante work. What we never send is the video, the names of the apps you lock, or anything you typed.
Who we are
Ante is developed by Ali Emir Zilyas, an individual developer based in Türkiye. For anything in this policy, write to support@tryante.app.
The camera
Ante uses your camera to count exercise repetitions. This is the most sensitive permission the app asks for, so here is exactly what happens:
- Video frames are processed entirely on your device using Apple's on-device Vision framework, which estimates body joint positions.
- Frames are never written to storage — not to your photo library, not to a file, not to a temporary cache.
- Frames are never transmitted. Ante contains no code that uploads images or video anywhere.
- Nothing derived from the video — no images, no joint data, no measurements — leaves your device either.
- The camera is active only while you are on the counting screen and stops when you leave it.
The apps you choose to lock
Ante uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to shield apps. When you pick apps to lock, iOS hands the app a set of opaque tokens — not names, not bundle identifiers.
This means Ante cannot see which apps you selected. We can count how many you picked and ask the system to shield them, and that is the limit of our access. Your selection stays on your device and is never transmitted.
What Ante stores on your device
The following is saved locally on your iPhone. Except where the next section says otherwise, it is not sent anywhere:
- Your onboarding answers and preferences, including your wake time.
- Your streak — the mornings you completed, and your current run.
- Your last 20 completed sessions: which exercise, how many reps, how long you moved for, your average pace, and when you finished. Ante uses this to price a Pass against your own mornings rather than a stranger's.
- Your Pass balance and when Passes were used.
- Your lock schedule and the opaque app tokens described above.
All of it is deleted when you delete the app. None of it is backed up to a server, which also means it does not follow you to a new phone — your streak, your sessions and your Passes live on that device only.
What Ante sends to us
Ante keeps a record of how the app is used, so that we can tell which parts of it help people and which do not. It is written on your phone first and sent afterwards; if the phone is never online, it simply stays there.
What the record contains. Which screens you reached and in what order, how long setup took, which of the fixed answers you chose during setup, your wake time, whether Screen Time permission was granted, whether a morning was completed, abandoned, missed or bridged with a Pass, how many repetitions were counted and how long they took, how many apps you chose to lock, and whether a subscription started or ended.
What it never contains. No camera frames and nothing derived from them. No names of the apps you lock — only how many. No free text of any kind: the app is built so that a written word cannot be placed in this record at all. No contacts, no location, no health data.
Who you are in it. When Ante first sends anything, it creates an anonymous account for your installation — a random identifier, with no email, no password and no name attached. It is not the same as your Apple ID and we cannot connect it to you. If you delete and reinstall the app, a new one is created and the old record is not linked to it.
Where it is held. This record is stored by Supabase on servers in the United States. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Türkiye, that is a transfer outside your country; it is made under the relevant standard contractual clauses.
We also use TelemetryDeck to count how far people get through setup. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across apps or websites.
Subscriptions and payment
Ante is a paid subscription app. Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your card details, billing address, or Apple ID.
To keep track of whether your subscription is active, Ante uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives:
- A randomly generated anonymous ID that identifies your installation. It is not your name, email, or Apple ID, and we do not link it to your identity.
- Your purchase and subscription status — which product you bought, when it renews, whether it is active.
- Basic device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version, and the country inferred from your IP address.
This exists so the app knows whether to unlock paid features. Ante does not use it for advertising or profiling, and it is separate from the usage record described above.
What Ante does not do
- No sign-up, email collection, or passwords.
- No advertising, no ad identifiers (IDFA), no cross-app tracking.
- No App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to ask for.
- No selling or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
- No location tracking.
- No access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or health data.
This website
Everything above describes the Ante app. This website is a handful of static pages and sets no cookies.
It does run Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without storing anything on your device. It does not build a profile of you and cannot follow you to other sites.
It is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server request logs (including IP addresses) for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify or profile visitors.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the Turkish KVKK, or similar laws — including access, correction, deletion, and objection.
Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. That is most of it, and it is entirely under your own control.
The usage record described above is pseudonymous: it is filed under a random identifier and we hold nothing that connects it to your name, your email or your Apple ID. That protects you, and it has one honest consequence — if you ask us to delete it, we cannot find it from your email address alone. You can read that identifier in the app, under Settings → Profile, where a tap copies it. Send it to support@tryante.app and we will delete the record it names.
For the subscription records held by RevenueCat, write to the same address. For payment records held by Apple, please contact Apple.
Children
Ante is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Ante handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
